were you there?

Were you there when they crucified my Lord?
Were you there when they crucified my Lord?
Oh, sometimes it causes me to tremble, tremble, tremble.
Were you there when they crucified my Lord?

Were you there when they nailed him to the tree?
Were you there when they nailed him to the tree?
Oh, sometimes it causes me to tremble, tremble, tremble.
Were you there when they nailed him to the tree?

Were you there when they laid him in the tomb?
Were you there when they laid him in the tomb?
Oh, sometimes it causes me to tremble, tremble, tremble.
Were you there when they laid him in the tomb?

Were you there when God raised him from the tomb?
Were you there when God raised him from the tomb?
Oh, sometimes it causes me to tremble, tremble, tremble.
Were you there when God raised him from the tomb?

this ensemble that elissa & i heard on our way out of esplanade,
was so good it gave me goosebumps right from the start.
one of the very few times i could really feel the music engulf my entire being & resonate deep within my soul.
i don't know if i make sense,
because that feeling was simply indescribable.
all i knew was that at that moment, it felt as if i was in Heaven.
and it almost brought me to tears.

elissa & i loved the basses to the max! :D
both of us felt that the balance was simply perfect.
strong bassline with just one loud soprano.
and oh my! the tone.. the emotion they put into the song.. the dynamics.. the everything!
admittedly i wasn't really listening much to the lyrics.
it was essentially the (wordless) music that touched me.

this feeling, i feel,
it's something that not everyone can understand.

good music affects me a great deal.
